About me: I'm Persephone, the goddess of springtime, and Queen of the underworld. My name translates into, "She who destroys the light." It kind of makes sense, since I'm Queen of the Underworld, hidden under the Earth's crust. I'm loving, happy, and compassionate. I'm so immensely gorgeous that my uncle Hades fell in love with me, so he kidnapped me, then forced me to become his wife. Can you believe it? My own uncle forced me to marry him! But it's all good now. We're a happy and devoted couple, though the underworld is very dark and lonesome. Thankfully, I only ate six pomegranate seeds, so I can spend the first six months of the year with my mom in Olympus, then the other six months with Hades in the Underworld. During the summer, I'm blonde and blue-eyed, but in the winter I'm a dark-eyed brunette. Mortals tend to think of me as the goddess who dies and relives. I'm not really welcome into Olympus, especially since I'm not one of the twelve main gods, like my mother, Demeter, the goddess of grain. In my opinion, my home is the lovely woods and gentle fields of grain and flowers. In temples, paintings, and sculptures, I'm usually seen with a wreath of flowers around my head, carrying sheaves of grain or a torch to symbolize my return from the Underworld, thus the grain grows, feeding the mortals. I don't have much power like my uncle, Zeus, but I'm able to cure the sick, create small electrical discharges, and influence the growth of flowers. In my spare time,
